Shotgun Training 6th March

On the 6th of March the competitors will receive their final training before flying on to Resolute. This training is first and last line of defence against a truly dangerous predator... the Polar Bear! Their training will provide them with the essential and potentially life saving skills required if they encounter one of these magnificent creatures.
Norway Training 16th January - 23rd 2010

Follow us from the 16th January on the Polar-Challenge website as the competitors are taken to Norway for their Arctic survival training. We will be providing regular updates, pictures and videos from Hjerkinn as they battle the elements and develop their skills.
Polar Challenge 2010
Polar Challenge is a 320-nautical mile race to the 1996 position of the Magnetic North Pole with the competitors stopping en route at two manned checkpoints to re-supply.
The race is held between mid-April to mid-May every year since 2004, and is televised annually to 168 million homes in 107 countries.
Racing in teams of 3, in the most beautiful scenery imaginable, many of the competitors join as individuals and form teams when they meet other contestants during the training sessions in the UK and Norway.
The team members come from all walks of life and are a variety of ages. What they have in common is physical stamina, mental endurance and a desire to achieve the extraordinary.
